NATURE

Sri Lanka has two monsoons that coming from the north east and the south west bring rain to all parts of the country. The temperature ranges between 20 to 30 centigrade. In the central hills the climate is cooler. This wonderful island is the combination of the beautiful Asian Elephants, feisty and elusive leopard, hairy sloth bear, the genteel deer, flamboyant birds and more exquisite creatures. Despite its small landmass, Sri Lanka boasts one of the highest rates of biological endemism in the world whether in plants or animals and is included among the top five biodiversity hotspots in the world.

Nature Hambantota

Hambantota is considered as a rain less area and combination of tropical wet and dry climate. Therefore, Hambantota is most popular for salt production. Salt is produced by using sea water. Hambantota is one of the quickest development cities in every kind of fields. In ancient it called Mahagama, Ruhuna and Dolos dahas rata.

Mattala airport, Magam Ruhunupura International conference hall, hambantota port and the southern express highway show the development that the city has faced. The wind farm, which was located along south-eastern coast of Hambantota was the country’s first wind farm and the wind farm generated up to approximately 4,500 MWh of power a year. Further, Mattala Rajapaksha International airport, is the first greenfield airport in island.

It is located in Mattala which is designed to facilitate for over 800 foreign passengers at peak hours and several local passengers per every 1000 km² inside the buildings.

Nature Matale

Matale, situated in the middle of the country is famous for spicy. Cocoa, rubber, vanilla, cardamom, cinchona and jackfruit are the main plantations that can be seen in Matale. Further, the city’s main economic activities include Tourism, Business and Trade.

Sigiriya which is the most atraction place in Sri lanka give support to increase tourrism in the district. King Kashyapa who was the son of King Dhatusena built his palace on top of the rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. The entrance of King Kashyapa palace was designed with the lion-like structure. Therefore, it was named Sinhagiri. Sigiriya is famous for frescoes, created during the reign of Kasyapa.

Wasgamuwa national park is another major destination in Matale which is also home to a number of wild elephants. There are many volunteering programs belongs to this national park and as a volunteer, you can take part in a number of activities designed to better understand the elephant populations around Wasgamuwa National Park and their movements.

Nature Ratnapura

Ratnapura is a city in South-western Sri Lanka. Known as the ‘City of Gems’, Ratnapura lies at the foot of Adam’s Peak and close to Sinharaja Rain Forest. Ratnapura – The City of Gems is also the gateway to the hill country from the Southern plains. The scenic route takes you passing paddy fields, rubber plantations and tea estates.

Tea grown in this region is called low-country tea. Sri Lanka has produced three of the world’s largest blue sapphires, including the “Blue Belle of Asia”. Traditional gem pits of Ratnapura unearth a range of gems in the ancient methods. Rubies, Sapphires, Cat’s-eye, Alexandrite, Emeralds, Aquamarine, and Zircon are found in the gem pits.

Nature ELLA

Nuwara Eliya is a town of central province in Sri Lanka. It is located at an altitude of 1,868 m (6,128 ft) in the central highlands and is considered one of the most important locations for Tea production in Sri Lanka. And also, Nuwara Eliya consider as “Little England”. Because of the cooler atmosphere. Gregory Lake in Nuwara Eliya, is popular with domestic tourists who enjoy strolling the footpaths, taking out a swan-shaped pedal boat or trotting around on a pony.

As such with these many attractions Gregory Lake is a family friendly historic location of Sri Lanka.Nuwara Eliya famous for high quality tea production in Sri Lanka because of its climate. Not only on the island, Ceylon Tea is popular all around the world. Lots of tea factories in Nuwara Eliya open for visitors to see the tea production process and taste the fresh cup of tea.

Nature Mirissa

Mirissa is one of the main sea shore goals in southern Sri Lanka. The territory has everything, delightful Sri Lankan sea shores, surf waves, whale viewing, and extraordinary bars and cafes. Mirissa’s beach and nightlife make it a popular tourist destination. It is also a fishing port and one of the island’s main whale and dolphin watching locations.

Mirissa Beach is beautiful. It had enough going on to give it an atmosphere without being overcrowded. Palm trees lined the outskirts, the sand was clean and the water was an incredible combination of blue and green. Beach chairs are available, as well as plenty of sand to lay a towel, with food and cocktails just a few steps away.

Nature Kitulgala

Kitulgala is a small village west of Sri Lanka, just 80km from Colombo, on the banks of the beautiful Kelani River. The name of Kitulgala is derived from the Kitual Palm tree (Sinhala: Sago Palm tree) that abound in the village of Kitulgala.

Kitul palm syrup is used to prepare numerous traditional Sinhalese sweets. It is also fermented to make palm wine. The pith is used to make sago, and the fibres to make rope. Kithulgala has most of the rainforest bird species that are found at the World Biosphere Reserve at Sinharaja, although in lower numbers

Nature Haputale

Haputale is an extremely charming little town of salubrious atmosphere that settles on the southern edge of the Central Highlands of Sri Lanka. There are numerous Tea plantations around and one can walk for all intents and purposes for a little while, while never taking a similar way twice. As it is situated at the head of a mountain go, the perspectives are remarkable.

Nature Pasikudah

Pasikudah, signifying “green-green growth cove” is situated in Eastern seaboard of Sri Lanka among Kalkuda and the Indian Ocean, roughly 35 kilometers from Batticaloa Town.
