As per the Tourism Development Authority, revenue generated from tourist arrivals in January 2024 is approaching the significant milestone of 500 million rupees. Chairman Bhapati Priyantha Fernando reported that a noteworthy 208,253 tourists visited Sri Lanka in January.
Chairman Fernando emphasized the substantial growth, amounting to 104%, in comparison to the tourist numbers recorded in January 2023. Furthermore, he anticipates a promising outlook for the year, projecting that approximately 2.3 million tourists are expected to choose Sri Lanka as their destination in the current year.
