Arugambay in sri lanka is known as a surfer’s paradise and one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka. Arugambay, known locally as “Arugam kudah” is situated on the Indian Ocean in the dry zone of Sri Lanka’s southeast coast, and is a historic settlement of the ancient Batticaloa territory.

Arugambay is one of those areas in Sri Lanka would you have to visit at least once in a lifetime. Arugambay is important to the busy season that runs from June until August. This is Buddhist temple with a rich history located just under 30 km south of Arugambay. Built-in the 2nd century, this monastery complex lay undiscovered for centuries, hidden in a thick jungle. Kudumbigala monastery lies eleven miles from Panama and seventeen miles away from Kumana village. archeologists had recovered over 200 rock caves belonging to this forgotten monastery. The inscriptions n Brahmi script and other evidence in the recently discovered cave, maha sudharshana Lena, shows that Kudumbigala was established as an Aranya senasanaya in the pre-Christian era.

This park is 391 km southeast of Colombo on Sri Lanka’s southeastern coast. Kumana is contiguous with Yala national park. the 18,149 hectares Kumana national park is a well-known eco-tourism attraction and bird sanctuary. Besides the prolific birdlife, Kumana national park is also home to some of the mammals found in the larger Yala national park, such as elephants and leopards.
